Visual Editions, nicknamed VE, is a London-based book publisher, started in early 2009 by Anna and Britt. The idea for VE comes from our joint love of books and a (mischievous) desire to do things differently, so that everything we do translates into a new experience for our readers, and for all the writers and designers we work with. What we do is make sure we turn all that love and mischief into beautifully, lovingly, wonderfully written and crafted books.
This is such a lovely thing, blacksmith turned sculptor Andrew Baldwin has created the boat that walks! A few days ago the 20 ton, 40ft vessel walked into the water at Sandwich in kent, has sailed up the Thames and is scheduled to walk up out of the water again at the beach infront of the Tate Modern at 12:30 tomorrow (Thursday 14th October). If you’re in the area, it’ll be well worth a look. Read a bit more about this amazing project at Andrew’s site. www.walkingboat.com
BMWs will soon feature iPad docking bays on back seats, which swivel and rotate. Using ConnectedDrive, the car will act as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing iPads and other devices to connect online.
Professor layton Reid is an amazing man, he is the founder of Desitecture research led teaching practice and interior/urban design group. Founded in 2000, our interests concern the inevitability of the interior in all its manifestations and its expression through architecture. http://desitecture.blogspot.com/
