Audi City has just opened its doors in London, right down the way from Piccadilly Circus and a stone’s throw from the Summer Olympics park.
Trying to sidestep lumbering showrooms, the Audi City aims to create a sleek retail experience within an urban setting that’s tight on space. The rows upon rows of physical cars are replaced by maybe one full size vehicle…the rest is created by you.
Virtually build your perfect Audi, customise every detail…then take your USB to the nearest dealership to buy.
If you’re at a loss for something to do, head down to the V&A and aside from all the usual brilliant stuff, check out the Heatherwick Studio offering in the Porter Gallery, showing everything from architecture through to retail design and product. Runs until 30th September 2012.

To celebrate the BritWeek T4C Artists Competition Closing Ceremony, BritWeek hosted Art Battle LA, paying homage to the 2012 Summer Games’ theme on sustainability and its overall spirit of unified competition across borders.
This special event featured a live Art Battle between four notorious names in the London and Los Angeles street and graffiti art scenes. Two UK artists (Inkie/Eine) and two LA artists (Mear One/Man One) went head to head in the spirit of unified competition. Battle was brought to the historic arts district core of Downtown Los Angeles. Audience members were given the opportunity to view the Art Battle live throughout the evening with artists painting one-of-a-kind designs onto recycled furniture pieces by globally acclaimed furniture designer Christopher Guy and Jaguar hoods.
The overall winner was declared as Man One from LA, but the people’s choice award went to Inkie, who created the rather fetching black and gold hood below.
We have just designed a retail experience at the 2012 Professional Beauty show at London’s ExCeL for our Harley Street Skin Clinic client. It has been a great success and we will be uploading all the Lovely work to our website over the next few days. We designed the interactive space along with an app whereby consumers could instantly win £1000 worth of treatments through fully integrated data capture and Facebook Like.
Following the success of 2011’s ‘Bright Young Things’, the pioneering project by Selfridges to seek out and champion the most exciting young creators in the UK, January 2012 sees us re-launch the campaign on an even greater scale.
The second Bright Young Things scheme features a total of fifteen UK-based emerging talents from the worlds of fashion, art and design and food.
Running until the end of February, each of the Bright Young Things will take over an Oxford Street or Duke Street window – their brief is solely to communicate the essence of their work. With one million people walking past the famous windows every week, the displays provide an incredible launch-pad for these fledgling designers to showcase their creations to the public.
The Bright Young Things’ products will be available to buy from three pop up shops in store as well as online at Selfridges.com.
Definitely worth checking out – both the windows outside and the pop-ups inside!
